While you are abroad it is important to stay in contact with the Education Abroad office. Keeping us in the loop on any issues that arise will allow us to provide you with resources to assist you. In addition, sharing some of the things students are doing as part of your program (projects, research, cultural excursions, etc.) is always encouraged.
Emergency Response
It is important to familiarize yourself with RIT’s International Emergency Response Plan which outlines the steps you should take in the event of an international emergency. In addition to RIT’s International Emergency Response Plan, you can always quickly report an international emergency and be connected to RIT public safety by using the Report An International Emergency button located at the bottom of all of our website pages.
Encourage your students to tag us (@RITStudyAbroad) or use #RITStudyAbroad when posting photos of the program on social media. We will be able to see what is being posted and in turn share posts on our social media platforms which will generate buzz about your program.
Managing Finances
Keeping your receipts and financial documents labeled and organized will make reconciliation much easier once you return. If your program ends near the fiscal year end of July 1, it will be especially important that you complete your expense report as soon as possible.
